Summer is the talking season as there are now just 59 days away from the Alabama Crimson Tide kicking off its football season against the Utah State Aggies. Most experts expect Alabama to handle the Aggies with ease so most of the focus has already moved to the Tide's Week 2 matchup against the Texas Longhorns.

Alabama will head to Austin on September 10 for an 11:00 a.m. kickoff in what will be a sold out affair. The Longhorns will enter the game as an underdog after turning in a 5-7 2021 season, but Steve Sarkisian's squad is not short on confidence as the matchup approaches.

Former Alabama running back and current Longhorn Keilan Robinson put that confidence on display while appearing in a Tuesday evening Twitter Space with a number of Texas faithful.

"Knowing what I know, seeing what I see everyday, being here and being there, I know we can beat them boys," said Robinson, according to former Tuscaloosa News beat writer Brett Greenberg.

Robinson is one of many Texas Longhorns in the Austin program with ties to Tuscaloosa as either a former player or a coach. He transferred to Texas in the 2021 offseason after playing in eight games for the Tide in 2019 and opting out of the 2020 season.

The speedy running back appeared in 11 games in Sarkisian's initial season and carried the ball 45 times for 322 yards with three touchdowns and hauled in seven passes for 57 yards. He will likely serve as Bijan's Robinson's backup again in 2022 but should become a dangerous change-of-pace weapon out of the backfield for the Longhorns.

The ties between the two programs run deep through Longhorns players and coaches, making the Week 2 matchup the juiciest of the weekend, Robinson's comments on Twitter on Tuesday night just adds more intrigue to the showdown in Austin.
