Former Ole Miss Head Coach Houston Nutt Speaks His Mind on ‘Inside The Locker Room’

This past Monday, both parties announced in a joint statement that the lawsuit between Houston Nutt and Ole Miss has been settled.

Back in July, Nutt alleged that there was a breach of contract via defamation of character, seeking punitive damages in a self dubbed "smear campaign" against him made by Ole Miss employees. These defamatory statements were sent to media members ahead of the 2016 Notice of Allegations written by the NCAA.

When the notice of allegations was released, it was revealed that many of the allegations the program faced did not involve Nutt. Tuesday morning, Nutt joined Wimp and Barry Sanderson Inside The Locker Room to give his side if the story.

"I just wanted to clear my name," Nutt said. "I'm just glad all of that is behind us, and I wish Ole Miss the best. The bottom line is everything is good. They apologized, so let's move on down the road."

Nutt also gave his reasons why he believes Alabama has been able to continue producing successful seasons. He attributed it to their ability to control the line of scrimmage while being able to successfully use their depth chart to fill gaps.

"When you can own the line of scrimmage that's the difference," Nutt said. "It's not like Alabama hasn't faced injuries. They have lost linebackers, a Da'Shawn Hand and he [Saban] just says next."
