Signing Day held very few surprises for The University of Alabama, but one player expected to be a part of the 2015 signing class won't be sending his letter of intent to Tuscaloosa.

At least not this year.

Hoover defensive end Christian Bell, who had been committed to Alabama since April of 2014, has been asked to take a grayshirt offer, according to AL.com. If accepted, Bell postpone his enrollment until next spring and count towards the scholarship numbers in 2016.

"I have decided to stay committed to Alabama and take a grayshirt," Bell told AL.com. "I will start in January after the first semester this fall."

If the grayshirt offer holds up, Alabama will finish its class with 23 total players, which would still give it a consensus #1 ranking. Nick Saban will hold his Signing Day press conference at 4 PM/CT, which might provide more insight into Bell's status.
