The University of Alabama doesn't get many student-athletes from the state of Hawaii, but Tua Tagovailoa has quickly become a fan favorite in Tuscaloosa.

The true freshman enrolled early in school, earned the back-up quarterback role behind Jalen Hurts, and came into the national championship game in the second half to lead the Crimson Tide to a comeback win over Georgia.

But the question that gets asked most about the talented left-handed thrower is how do you pronounce his name? He was asked the same thing during one of his first media appearances in Tuscaloosa and set the record straight.

Check out the video below where he explains the pronunciation to a reporter.

So there it is: "Too-uh Tongue-oh-vi-loa"

Tagovailoa finished his freshman season at Alabama by throwing for 636 yards, 11 touchdowns and two interceptions. He'll compete with Jalen Hurts for the starting quarterback role heading into the 2018 season. The nation will likely be saying his name quite a bit in 2018.

The quarterback is already an early favorite to win the Heisman Trophy in 2018 so stay tuned.
