The last decade of Alabama football has seen the program win four national championships and numerous NFL Draft selections under the direction of Nick Saban.

The Crimson Tide saw 10 players selected in the first four rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft including four first round selections.

One of those 10 players selected was offensive lineman Cam Robinson. The Jacksonville Jaguars took Robinson as their first selection in the second round and the 34th overall pick in the draft.

Alabama alum and contributor for the Jacksonville Jaguars Network J.P. Shadrick reviewed the selection of Cam Robinson in a wide ranging conversation involving the Jacksonville Jaguars on The Gary Harris Show.

Shadrick detailed how Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone’s connections to Alabama helped them in drafting the Crimson Tide’s junior left tackle.

“Well, he used to be an offensive line coach at Georgia Tech in the late ‘90s when Brent Key was a player for Georgia Tech who is now the offensive line coach for Alabama. So they had a little more insight as to what really Cam Robinson’s about. Doug Marrone trusts Brent Key’s insight to that. I think that helped a little bit.” Shadrick said.

Shadrick also broke down an interview on his jaguars.com podcast that he had with Nick Saban and the futures of former LSU running back Leonard Fournette and former Alabama running T.J. Yeldon in the NFL.
