Alabama is beginning to turn into a little bit of a quarterback school in terms of putting quarterbacks in the NFL.

Jalen Hurts is the starting quarterback of the Eagles, Tua Tagoailoa is the starting quarterback of the Dolphins, and Bryce Young is the starting quarterback of the Panthers. Mac Jones is a backup quarterback for the Jaguars and was the starter for the Patriots.

Jalen Milroe has a chance to give Alabama five quarterbacks in the NFL. He already has a resume with an SEC championship and a college football playoff berth, but he still has another season to improve on his game. It'll be a tall task, but Milroe is reported to be one of the hardest-working players, according to Terrion Arnold and other teammates.

Milroe has helped the transition from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer, and the coaching staff is recognizing his work. Kalen. DeBoer was interviewed on Wednesday by Tide 100.9's own Ryan Fowler, and he asked Coach DeBoer about Alabama's quarterbacks. DeBoer talked about the talent in the room, but emphasized Jalen Milroe's place on the team, “Jalen’s taken every snap with the ones all spring,” DeBoer said. “He’s just a proven guy who’s done a great job last year. Leading a football team to a semifinal game is not easy. A conference championship, an SEC one at that, he’s just done some great things.”

“Jalen’s got multiple pieces to his game that he can just really excel at,” DeBoer said. “We have some great ones in the room. Jalen’s certainly been headlining that room and doing a great job there, really taking in the offense, and leading. He’s done a great job in all facets and things you’d want a quarterback to do.”

Alabama's got other talented signal callers in the room, but none appear to be about to unseat Milroe from the Tide's top spot. However, just because Milroe is the top option, doesn't mean DeBoer doesn't want competition. He still wants to see Ty Simpson, Dylan Lonergan, and Austin Mack compete behind Milroe, “We’re going to always be pouring into them and their growth and development," DeBoer said. "There’s a lot of talent. There’s a lot of opportunity that exists for those guys as well to just keep growing and improving. Love what that room is showcasing right now as they all compete to be the best they can be as well.”

How does Coach DeBoer want his quarterbacks to play?

"I don't want them playing conservative. I don't want them playing scared or nervous. Cut it loose. When you go through your progressions, if a guy's open. Let it rip."

Alabama will take to the practice field Thursday for its fifth of 15 spring practices. Alabama will play in the annual Spring A-Day game on Saturday, April 13th.
