Former Alabama star JaMychal Green has joined the San Antonio Spurs on a 10-day contract and made his NBA debut on Sunday.

The 6-foot-8 forward only play six minutes in his first NBA regular season game, grabbing one rebound but not taking any shots.

The Spurs called him up from their D-League Austin Spurs, where Green has performed as well as anyone in the league this season. His 23.0 points and 10.9 rebounds per game both rank fifth-best while his 1.6 blocks are good for 13th.

In December, the NBA D-League named Green the player of the month after he averaged 24.3 points and 11.3 rebounds and led the Austin Spurs to a 9-1 record.

“He’s far more reliable now than two years ago,” Spurs assistant general manager Sean Marks told the team's website. “He worked so hard to improve his game, did a tremendous job in the D-League, and now he’s here.”

The former McDonald's High School All-American played four years at Alabama and finished his career ranked top 15 in points, rebounds, blocks and steals. Only Green and Robert Horry have accomplished that in a Crimson Tide uniform.
