Junior Selected to Hall of Fame

The College Football Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for the class of 2020. Among the honorees is former Crimson Tide defender E.J. Junior. Junior played at the Capstone form 1977-80. Junior played defensive end on two national championship winning defenses while he was in Tuscaloosa. 

Junior recorded 71 tackles as a senior in 1980 and was named first team All-American. He was drafted with the fifth overall pick of the 1981 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. The defensive end won three SEC championships under Bear Bryant during his time in college. 

Junior played in the NFL for 12 years and made two Pro-Bowls, in 1984 and 1985. Junior played high school football in Nashville, Tennessee and was selected to the Tennessee Hall of Fame in 2010. In 2012 he was chosen to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Junior was fist nominated for the College Football Hall of Fame in 2016 and was selected as a member of the 2020 class.  

Junior is the 20th member of the College Football Hall of Fame from the University of Alabama.
