Monday, Ouachita Parish district attorney Jerry Jones dropped his case against Alabama football players Cam Robinson and Hootie Jones due to insufficient evidence.

Robinson and Jones were arrested in the early morning hours of May 17 on possession of marijuana. Robinson was also charged for felony possession of a stolen gun while Jones faced a misdemeanor charge for gun possession in the presence of marijuana.

KNOE-TV reporter Nick Picht appeared on the Gary Harris Show with guest host Barry Sanderson to recap the decision by district attorney Jerry Jones to drop the case.

Picht reminded listeners of the iconic status of the two Alabama football players in Monroe, Louisiana.

The KNOE-TV reporter provided a timeline relative to how the Ouachita Parish district attorney made his decision.

Picht also explained his reaction to Jerry Jones’ comments on why he dropped the case.

“When I first heard it, I was taken back, but I was also shocked at how human a district attorney sounded.” Picht said.

The Gary Harris Show airs every weekday from 9-11 AM on Tide 99.1 and the radioPup app.
