A bombshell report Wednesday from noted college football writer Brett McMurphy has the Ohio State Buckeyes football program in a state of panic.

On his Facebook page, McMurphy broke the news about Urban Meyer's knowledge of domestic abuse allegations involving former Buckeyes assistant Zach Smith.

To begin Thursday's edition of The Blitz, former Alabama fullback Martin Houston tackled the fiasco taking place with Ohio State's head football coach.

While emphasizing the importance of letting Ohio State's investigation of their national championship coach play out and the necessity of men never harming women, the former Crimson Tide fullback provided a word of caution relating to how society's view of gender roles could affect the treatment of women for future generations.

"Society, be careful. If you teach that there is no difference between men and women, male and female, gender doesn't matter, there's no gender specific thing, then you open the door for this potentially to run wild and become a bigger problem." Houston said.

The Blitz kicks off coverage of Alabama football every weekday from 6-7 AM on Tide 102.9/100.9 and the Tide 102.9 app.
