A freak injury on the eve of The Masters has put Dustin Johnson's tournament future in doubt.

According to multiple reporters in Augusta, the world's number one player suffered a back injury after falling on the stairs inside his rental house on Wednesday.

Should he not be able to tee off on Thursday (fortunately he has the latest tee time of the day so he'll be able to receive treatment and rest), it shakes up the entire tournament. Johnson enters the year's first major as the clear favorite after winning three straight tournaments. Now Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy are co-favorites to win the green jacket.

We likely won't know Johnson's status until sometime on Thursday, but it can't be a good sign that he's already canceled an appearance tonight where he was going to receive a player of the year award.

It's been a wild Wednesday in Augusta, where the par 3 tournament was canceled for the first time ever because of inclement weather.

Players are set to tee off beginning at 7 AM/CT on Thursday.
