Throw your bracket in the trash. It only took until 4PM on Friday for the NCAA Tournament to go completely crazy.

Michigan State, a 2-seed and popular championship pick, dropped its opening game to Middle Tennessee State, 90-81. The Blue Raiders became just the eighth team in tournament history to win as a 15-seed, and they did it by never trailing in the game.

Middle Tennessee, which won the Conference USA tournament to earn the chance to play Michigan State, features a couple of Alabama natives.

There's no denying that the Blue Raiders earned the victory rather than the Spartans playing poorly. Both teams shot 56% from the field but Middle Tennessee had a small edge outside the 3-point line to give it the edge.

Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo had this message after the loss.

Next up for the Blue Raiders will be Syracuse on Sunday. The Orange shut down Dayton earlier in the day to advance.
