Football fans might see something in 2015 that hasn't happened since the end of the 2009 season: Alabama enters a game as an underdog.

The last time oddsmakers didn't expect Nick Saban's team to win a football game came in the 2009 SEC Championship against Florida. Since that time, the Crimson Tide has been the favored in every contest its played. That could potentially change this year.

As we get our first look at the 2015 point spreads, it looks like Alabama's schedule will be much more difficult than recent years. The Golden Nugget released numbers on all of the 'Games of the Year' and the defending SEC Champions are on the list nine times. Every single one of those spreads are 10 points or fewer.

  • Sept. 5 -- Alabama (-10) vs Wisconsin
  • Sept. 19 -- Alabama (-9.5) vs Ole Miss
  • Oct. 3 -- Alabama (pick) at Georgia
  • Oct. 10 -- Alabama (-7.5) vs Arkansas
  • Oct. 17 -- Alabama (-7) at Texas A&M
  • Oct. 24 -- Alabama (-10) vs Tennessee
  • Nov. 7 -- Alabama (-9) vs LSU
  • Nov. 14 -- Alabama (-9) at Mississippi State
  • Nov. 28 -- Alabama (-3.5) at Auburn

As you can see, that early-season showdown against Georgia has the potential of ending Alabama's streak of 5+ seasons as a favorite. It's a pick'em now but could easily swing to the Bulldogs' favor by the end of September. The last time these two met in Athens, Georgia was a 6.5-point favorite but lost 41-30.

The only games that aren't included are lopsided non-conference matchups with Middle Tennessee State, UL-Monroe, and Charleston Southern. Alabama should be a heavy favorite in each of those.
