Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa News checked in with Host of "Southern Fried Sports" Travis Reier while on the road Tuesday morning for his weekly Alabama basketball and football discussion.

The Crimson Tide struggled to hold on to their lead in their 68-61 victory over Vanderbilt over the weekend and won't have room to falter tonight on the road against South Carolina.

"South Carolina is 6-1 at home in the league," Hurt told Reier. "If Alabama shoots it well, South Carolina by any stretch isn't a great team, but they are a well coached team. Alabama has to shoot it well, not turn it over, and not do some of the things they have characteristically done here in the last month."

"He's a young person in an older body any," Hurt told Reier about Nick Saban. "So coaching at 74 or 75 wouldn't surprise a lot of people if that's what he wants to do."
