As Alabama gets set to roll out another draft class to the NFL, the program held its first of two pro days to feature a number of high draft picks.

Quarterback AJ McCarron received the most attention as he threw to Kenny Bell, Kevin Norwood, and former Alabama wide receiver Marquis Maze.

“It felt great – from hearing [concerns] about arm strength and deep outs and comebacks, I felt like today should silence all that," McCarron said after the workout. "I threw it deep early on in the workout and I threw it deep later on so it was a good day.”

The biggest surprise came from offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandjio, who participated in a few drills despite reports that said he would hold off until the second Pro Day on April 8.

“I didn’t do any timed workouts like the 40," Kouandjio said. "My plan for this Pro Day was to do field work and my foot work to show what I can do on the field, and then on the 8th [of April] I’ll do the running stuff. My goal is to show a dramatic increase from the last time I got timed.”

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, who's projected to be Alabama's highest draft pick, didn't run the 40-yard dash, but ran through a number of drills for the NFL personnel. Linebacker C.J. Mosley, however, did run and felt good after.

“It went well and I ran a good 40," Mosley said. "we did the position drills and I got a little tired but I think after today most of the scouts were impressed. I was all about the power workouts and talking with different organizations and showing my football knowledge.”

Head coach Nick Saban spent a little time talking to NFL people but didn't watch the entire workout. But don't confuse that with a lack of interest.

“I think this is how we would like for it to be," Saban said. "We feel like when it comes to development of players to play football, a lot of guys really want the opportunity to play in the National Football League. To get this interest and representation from the league to give our players are opportunity is certainly what we would like for each one of our players to have. So, this is an exciting day."
