If reports are correct, Alabama is heading into the College Football Playoff with another coordinator set to leave for the third straight year.

Knoxville radio host Jimmy Hyams is reporting that the Tennessee Volunteers are set to make Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt the program's next head coach.

One year ago, it was offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin departing for Florida Atlantic. He left between the semifinal and championship game which caught many people off guard. The year before that, Kirby Smart accepted the Georgia job but finished out the season and won a national championship.

Bringing Pruitt to Knoxville would be a positive ending to a rocky process that lasted weeks and took multiple turns along the way. The most recent was the firing of athletic director John Currie and replacing him with Phillip Fulmer, but it appears the program found its man.

There's no word whether Pruitt will remain with Alabama to finish out the season or depart immediately to begin the rebuilding process at Tennessee.
