SEC Football Picks for Oct. 14

Last week I went 5-0. That will be hard to top, but there's a shot at it, regardless.

Missouri at Kentucky

Brady Cook may be the SEC's most underrated quarterback, but Missouri fans know what they have in him. Kentucky, coming off a stinging loss to Georgia, will find out about Cook and not like what they learn. Mizzou wins, 35-20.

Auburn at LSU

Jaden Daniels is in my book the 2023 All-SEC quarterback. He does it all for the Tigers. Yes, the Corndog defense is porous, and Auburn will score, but Daniels and Co. will score more. LSU wins, 38-24.

Florida at South Carolina

This is a snoozer between two barely bowl-eligible teams by the time bids go out. I don't need Danny Sheridan's help on this one. Florida plays dead on the road under Billy Napier again and the Gamecocks crow, 34-14.

Texas A&M at Tennessee

Joe Milton has a cannon for an arm. Max Johnson is accurate, but will he be protected enough to be effective? He wasn't against Bama. Vols win, 31-17, and Jimbo's hot seat gets way hotter.

Georgia at Vanderbilt

The biggest question in Nashville is not who will win. It's whether Vandy will again have stadium construction renovations going on DURING THE GAME. You can't make it up. Dogs take it, 49-10.

Arkansas at Alabama

Nick Saban's now legendary "Nothing" discourse was meant for his players and the message was: DON'T TAKE ARKANSAS FOR GRANTED. Ole Miss did, and it nearly cost the Rebs last week in Oxford. Bama won't, though a slow start due to the early kick time might make it look like the Tide is letting down. Milroe and company will wake up by noon and put it on the Hogs, 31-14.
