It took more than two decades to move the Southeastern Conference's annual media days out of the Birmingham area, but commissioner Greg Sankey confirmed that the conference will bring the event back to Hoover in 2019.

Media Days got underway from the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta on Monday morning with Sankey leading things off from the main room. When discussing the decision to move locations, the commissioner said they had discussed that move a year ago but construction around Mercedes-Benz Stadium forced a delay.

Having the event in Atlanta has allowed the conference to expand the festivities outside of the media circus. The SEC Network hosted an episode of SEC Nation on Sunday afternoon and the conference will have a fan experience near the Hall of Fame for visitors to enjoy.

Next year, however, SEC Media Days will return to Hoover once again. The commissioner isn't sure what will happen following 2019, but he seems open to the idea of rotating locations to give fans outside of Alabama a chance to see the teams and players.
