Seth Greenberg Previews the Big XII/SEC Challenge [Audio]
Coming up this weekend, 20 teams from the Southeastern Conference and Big XII will participate in the fifth annual Big XII/SEC Challenge.
All ten teams from the Big XII and every team from the SEC except for Auburn, Mississippi State LSU and Missouri will participate in the challenge.
Two of the 20 teams competing in the Big XII/SEC challenge are Oklahoma and Alabama. The Sooners come off one of their best wins of the season Tuesday night over Kansas while the Crimson Tide saw a four-game winning streak disappear at the hands of the Ole Miss Rebels.
Prior to Saturday’s Big XII/SEC Challenge, ESPN college basketball analyst Seth Greenberg looked ahead to the weekend on the hardwood for the two conference on Inside the Locker Room.
From a scheduling standpoint, the marquee non-conference event falls almost in the middle of conference play for both the Big XII and SEC. Greenberg discussed the downsides of the Big XII/SEC Challenge from a coaching perspective but later brought out the positives from an exposure standpoint for both leagues.
“For the leagues, I think it’s exactly in the right place. It’s the focal point of this weekend. The Big XII/SEC Challenge is the focus of everything we’re doing on ESPN this weekend.” Greenberg said.
In addition to breaking down the 10 games between the SEC and Big XII on Saturday, Greenburg gave his thoughts on two of the most exciting guards in the country in Trae Young for Oklahoma and Collin Sexton for Alabama.
Individually, the ESPN college basketball analyst detailed the supporting cast for both guards as well as the coachability for Sexton and Young.
