Shelton was awarded a cool $135,000 winner’s check, and the win catapulted him from the 63rd to the 14th spot on the tour’s points list. The golfers who remain on the final top-25 list earn PGA Tour cards, with a chance to compete at the highest professional level in the sport.
The seven-day event is to be held the final week of September and feature 120 professional women golfers from almost 30 countries all looking to qualify for the LPGA Tour. There will be a three-day tournament for the professionals and a two-day Pro-Am event.
