Three Alabama men’s basketball signees will participate in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic basketball game, which will be played on Friday, March 17, in Montgomery, Ala. Signees Alex Reese (Pelham, Ala./Pelham HS) and Herb Jones (Greensboro, Ala./Hale County HS) will play for Alabama, while Galin Smith (Clinton, Miss./Clinton HS) will suit up for Mississippi.

The trio, along with guards Collin Sexton (Pebblebrook, Ga./Pebblebrook HS) and John Petty (Huntsville, Ala./Mae Jemison HS), make up the Tide’s stellar five-man recruiting class that is ranked No. 4 in the country by Rivals.com, No. 5 by Scout.com and 247Sports and No. 6 by ESPN.

Petty, who is the reigning Alabama Mr. Basketball and will play in this summer’s Jordan Brand Classic All-Star contest in mid-April, was selected but opted not to play in this week’s game. Meanwhile, Sexton is set to play in the McDonald’s All-American game on March 29, becoming just the 11th Alabama signee to earn a spot on the prestigious roster.

Friday night’s contest will tip off at approximately 7 p.m. CT.
