Tide on Tour: Waste Management Phoenix Open

 As the 2023-24 PGA TOUR season continues, four Alabama men’s golf alums will compete at the 2024 Waste Management Phoenix Open, which will be played Feb. 8-11, 2024, at TPC Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Highlighting the Crimson Tide quartet will be former standout Bud Cauley who is set to make his return to the PGA TOUR. Cauley is making his sixth career appearance at this weekend’s event. He will make his first PGA TOUR start in three-and-a-half years and first since the 2020 Safeway Open.

Bud Cauley

Paired in Same Group: Sam Ryder and Thomas Detry

• Makes his first PGA TOUR start since September of 2020 where he finished tied for 44^th at the Safeway Open
• Cauley has been mostly on the sidelines with a multitude of injuries suffered after a near-fatal car accident in 2018
• Has played in the WM Phoenix Open five times prior, with his best finish coming in 2013, when he tied for 24^th 

Lee Hodges

Paired in Same Group: Ryan Brehm and Adam Hadwin

• Ranked 70^th in the Official World Golf Rankings
• Competed last week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am where he finished tied for 58^th overall 

Robby Shelton

Paired in Same Group: Mark Hubbard and Ryan Fox

• Competed at the Farmers Insurance Open Jan. 27, 2024, finishing tied for the 25^th position overall

Justin Thomas

First Round Tee Time: 1:44p CT

Paired in Same Group: Adam Scott and Cameron Young

• Ranked 19^th in the Official World Golf Rankings
• Has a pair of top-10 results in his last two tournaments, including a sixth-place result at last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Davis Riley

First Round Tee Time: Withdrew

• Qualified for this weekend’s event as a result of finishing among the top 125 in last year’s FedEx Cup fall standings
• Competed at last week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am where he finished in 78^th overall

Recently turned pro Nick Dunlap is not scheduled to play in this event.
