The NBA Draft passed on Thursday night without Trevor Releford's name being called during the two rounds, but the point guard will get an opportunity to prove his value to the league this summer.

According to his Twitter account, the former Alabama standout will be joining the Atlanta Hawks during the NBA's Summer League.

The Hawks haven't officially announced the news yet, but the roster is beginning to take shape. Releford will be playing draft picks Adreian Payne and Lamar Patterson as well as former Florida guard Casey Prather.

Atlanta's summer league schedule begins on July 12 against Washington. All of the games are played in Las Vegas and the league only lasts until July 21.
