The country's national championship of golf gets underway on Thursday at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, and two former Alabama golfers will be among the field of 156.

Justin Thomas and Dickey Pride took different routes to get to the 2016 U.S. Open but both will have a chance to win the year's second major.

For Thomas, the former national champion won his first PGA Tour in Malaysia last fall and has climbed all the way up into the top 10 of the FedExCup standings. He will play alongside Brooks Koepka and Chris Wood for the first two rounds. His starting time on Thursday is 12:47 PM.

Pride will make his fourth career start in the U.S. Open at age 46 and earned the spot after shooting 7-under at the Memphis sectional last week. The Tuscaloosa native will be one of the first players on the course on Thursday. He'll tee off at 6:07 AM alongside Wes Short Jr. and Rob Oppenheim.

FOX Sports 1 and FOX will have complete television coverage of the event beginning at 9 AM on Thursday.
