Two Offensive Linemen Injured In Alabama Scrimmage

Alabama hasn’t had any significant injuries this fall, and that remained the case following the team’s second scrimmage Saturday.

According to coach Nick Saban, both offensive linemen Dominick Jackson and Korren Kirven left the closed scrimmage held inside Bryant-Denny Stadium due to injury, though neither is thought to be serious.

Jackson, who has been working as the first-team right tackle throughout fall camp this month, left with a strained shoulder and “may be out for a couple days.” Junior Brandon Greene, who has split time between the offensive line and tight end during his Crimson Tide career, has worked the same right-tackle position with the second team this month.

Kirven, a converted defensive lineman listed at both positions on the team’s official roster who has seen time as the second-team left tackle in practice, sprained his knee.

“… we think it's an MCL, which Robert Foster had an MCL last week and he didn't miss any time,” Saban said. “But this one, probably a week, maybe, at the most. I don't like to make predictions.”

Foster sustained the knee injury in the first scrimmage the previous Saturday.

The media and general public were not permitted to watch the scrimmage, as is the custom, though reporters were given a brief viewing period as the team warmed up before the start of the scrimmage.
