The numbers might not jump of the page of the stat sheet, but the Alabama passing game has plenty to be pleased about through seven games.

You have to look beyond the Crimson Tide's 182.3 passing yards per game, which ranks 11th out of 14 SEC teams, and to some areas that have been very positive for Brian Daboll's offense. It starts with junior Calvin Ridley's 33 receptions to rank second in the conference. He's been the top target for Jalen Hurts, but true freshman Jerry Jeudy is second on the team.

"We've got a lot of weapons on the outside and the inside so that helps out our passing game and our running game," Ridley said of the Alabama receiving group.

Along with Jeudy, Alabama also uses freshmen Henry Ruggs III and DeVonta Smith regularly. They've combined for only seven catches this year but five of those went for touchdowns.

"Those guys come out and they pretty much know their stuff. You know, they watch you and they learn. Coach Locks(ley) helps them get new moves. And they learn pretty fast and they're doing great I think."

Alabama will face the conference's top-ranked passing defense on Saturday when Tennessee comes to Bryant-Denny Stadium.
