Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts answered some early-season criticism with an efficient and effective afternoon in a 41-10 win over Fresno State.

The sophomore, who threw for just 96 yards in week one, bounced back to complete 14 of 18 passes and set a new career high with 156 yards rushing.

How would he describe the performance?

"Productive," Hurts said. "Productive, but it wasn't a perfect game. I wasn't 100 percent or none of that. We had some mistakes offensively."

Alabama played both Hurts and freshman Tua Tagovailoa against the outmatched Bulldogs and the offense rolled up nearly 500 total yards of offense.

"We did a good job of executing the game plan," Hurts said. "We played hard and did a way better job of executing."
