Although its place in the College Football Playoff has already been secured, The University of Alabama officially accepted an invitation to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on Monday.

Bowl president and CEO Gary Stokan visited the Alabama campus and took part in a press conference to make the announcement. Director of athletics Bill Battle accepted on behalf of the university while Nick Saban spoke about the game as well.

This will be the 48th year for the Peach Bowl but the first appearance for the Crimson Tide. The school has played in 64 bowl games dating back to the 1926 Rose Bowl against Washington, and Alabama will face off once again with the Huskies in Atlanta on December 31.

This year's College Football Playoff semifinal will kickoff at 2 PM and be televised by ESPN.
