Alabama's new basketball coach didn't waste any time meeting with the team that casts the biggest shadow in Tuscaloosa.

Avery Johnson, hours after being introduced by athletic director Bill Battle, visited the Alabama football practice on Wednesday afternoon to introduce himself and speak to the team for a few minutes.

Walking alongside Battle, Johnson strolled out to the middle of the practice field during the stretching period and spent a minute talking with Nick Saban. Running backs coach Burton Burns and strength coach Scott Cochran both gave Johnson a warm welcome and firm embrace before getting back to their respective positions.

After stretching ended, Saban brought the guys together and gave Johnson a chance to speak for a few minutes, which he did with the same excitement and energy he displayed at his first press conference. Johnson talked about his previous head coaching positions and the relationship he wants to have with the football program before concluding with a "Roll Tide."
