The University of Alabama's signing class has a strong in-state flavor thanks to two recent commitments from Thompson High School. Teammates Tua Tagovailoa and Amari Kight both made the decision to head to Tuscaloosa in 2019.

Scott Griffin of Smashmouth Radio had a chance to visit practice at Thompson as the team begins work towards the 2018 season. The Warriors have high expectations after a semifinals appearance a year ago.

Here's what Griffin had to say after watching Kight in person:

Kight is a gargantuan tackle from Thompson High School (just outside Birmingham) who committed to Alabama recently.  Kight stands a legit 6-foot-8 and last checked in at 310 pounds. He is entrusted with protecting the blind side of fellow Bama commit Taulia Tagovailoa in the Warriors offense.  Head Coach Mark Freeman says he would be shocked if Kight is not a 10-year NFL veteran one day.
