With the news that Mal Moore was stepping down as athletics director at The University of Alabama on Wednesday, a search for his replacement will begin immediately.

Alabama will be able to have its pick from candidates all of the country wanting to take over an athletics department that won national championships in four sports in 2011-2012 and currently riding a streak of three out of four college football national championships. With the coaches he hired and the facilities he upgraded at an unprecedented pace, Mal Moore leaves behind a coveted position.

While fans and media speculate on who will inherit the athletics director position, we want to know what the priorities should be for the next person in charge. Many sports in Tuscaloosa are enjoying their highest levels of success as a program, but there are definite areas that could you some attention. Here are some of the key aspects of the athletics department that are consistently talked about:

  • A new stadium for the baseball team.
  • A new basketball arena that provides a smaller but more intimidating crowd with it.
  • Improving a women's basketball program that hasn't had a winning record in the SEC in 15 years.

Of course, continuing to raise funds for the department will always be a priority. Vote on the poll below and if you're answer isn't listed, please write it in.
