It's the second rendition of the College Football Playoff, and one of the semifinal games pits the Crimson Tide against the Spartans of Michigan State.

Alabama opened up as an 8.5 point favorite, according to the experts in the desert, and according to most talking heads, the Tide should win the game by a couple of touchdowns. However, this Spartan team, while not a dominant team by any stretch of the imagination, has been tested plenty this season.

Another element to this game will be the rematch of the SEC and the Big 10 in the opening round of the College Football Playoff, and the Big 10 folks want to show the rest of the college football world that they mean business.

So how will the game end up? Will the Tide redeem themselves from last year's disappointing exit, or will Sparty take the Big 10 to its second consecutive national championship game?
