A simple tweet sent Alabama fans into a frenzy on social media this weekend.

Alabama linebacker Terrell Lewis, who hasn't played a snap this season after suffering an ACL injury in July, teased a possible return in time for Saturday's SEC Championship Game. The junior tweeted out a photo from last year's national championship game with the caption 'Debating if I should pick up where I left off...'

The speculation immediately started after this tweet that he could be in line for a return. If so, it would instantly bolster the Crimson Tide's defense. Lewis is a talented pass rusher and physical specimen that would help Alabama's front seven.

His true impact is a little bit unknown and based purely on potential. He's been in position to become a breakout player for Alabama each of the past two years but injuries have set him back. In 2017, he suffered an upper arm injury in the season opener against Florida State that kept him sidelined for most of the year. He eventually made it back for the Iron Bowl and College Football Playoff, where he would finish off the season with seven tackles and a sack against Georgia.

Nick Saban didn't have an update during his press conference on Monday but it's something to monitor this week.
