ABC 33/40 Chief Meteorologist James Spann says Tuscaloosa County could see black ice tomorrow morning as the rain that falls today could cause significant icing issues on roadways and bridges.

The Alabama Emergency Management Agency and Alabama Department of Transportation advise residents to avoid travel today.

Most local schools, including the University of Alabama and both Tuscaloosa City and County Schools, are closed today. DCH Regional Medical Center is rescheduling all COVID-19 vaccination appointments for today, and Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox says the city has worked with the Compassion Coalition to open warming stations throughout Tuscaloosa.
