The World Cup starts in 31 days, and next up in our World Cup Previews is the number one team in the world: Spain.

The reigning World Cup champions are insanely good. They seem to have lost a little bit of their firepower, but that doesn't mean much when you're so far ahead of the rest of the teams in the world. Starting in the backline, Spain field one of the best outside defenders in the world in Sergio Ramos. Ramos is a spectacular outside back, but when he decides to push up in the attack, he turns into one of the best wingers in the world. Girard Pique anchors down the middle of the Spanish defense, a squad that doesn't give up goals very often.

Spain's midfield is absolutely scary. With names like Xavi, Andres Iniesta, and Xabi Alonso, it's no wonder why. All these players compete at the highest level of club soccer in Spain, most of which on the world powerhouse teams Real Madrid or Barcelona. If you are fond of fantastic midfield play, then Spain should be the team you watch this summer.

Up front, Spain sport some great strikers as well. Cesc Fabregas may have lost some luster over the past couple years, but he's still one of the most dangerous players on the planet. Chelsea front man Fernando Torres is a threat to score anywhere on the pitch, and David Villa is the kind of veteran the Spaniards need up front to get a crucial goal when they need it. Not to mention young Barcelona stud Pedro, who will only add to the headache of figuring out how to defend this loaded squad.

My prediction: Spain take down everyone in Group B, although they'll be pushed in a couple of the matches. Chile and the Dutch won't back down, but they both are outclassed at every position against the Spanish.
