Dwight Stephenson is an Alabama football legend. No, he is just a flat out football legend.

His resume speaks for itself.  He won two national championships in 1978 and 1979 for the Crimson Tide, then long before the likes of LeBron James, Stephenson was selected to take his talents to South Beach as the 48th pick in the 1980 NFL Draft.  As part of the Dolphins, his success continued as Stephenson was named to the Pro Bowl 6 times, eventually landing in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

If you still are not impressed, legendary Alabama head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant said he was the best player, regardless of position that he had ever coached.  I am guessing the Bear didn't throw around compliments like that too lightly.

Currently Stephenson resides just miles away from where his Alma Matre will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.  Although he holds two championship rings from the University of Alabama, the Stephenson household will be divided come January 7th.

Dwight Stephenson Jr was a defensive lineman for the Fighting Irish from 2003 to 2007.

While his house may be divided on January 7th, Stephenson still shows his allegiance to the Alabama Crimson Tide and expects Nick Saban's team to be at their best come Monday night
