The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its list of Division-I All-Academic teams from the 2014-15 season and Alabama finished the year with a 3.495 GPA, which is 13th among all Division-I programs, the highest in the Southeastern Conference and the best among the 16 teams in last year’s NCAA Super Regional round.

The Crimson Tide’s 3.495 team GPA paced all programs in the SEC, edging out South Carolina’s 3.442 mark in 21st. In addition to Alabama and South Carolina, Texas A&M (85th – 3.172), Tennessee (98th – 3.060) and Florida (100th - 3.040) also made the list, giving the SEC a total of five All-Academic teams. Alabama is also the highest-ranked of the eight teams that made the Women’s College World Series last season and all 16 teams that made the NCAA Super Regional round.

Alabama previously placed 10 members of its 2014-15 team on the NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete list. All 10 athletes were also named to either the SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll or Academic All-SEC lists last season, while Haylie McCleney was named a First Team CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-American and was singled out as the All-America Team Member of the Year for softball.
