Saturday brings the first scrimmage for Alabama this spring, but the Crimson Tide still had one more practice session today.  Moved indoors due to the weather, the players came out in shoulder pads and helmets.  As usual, media were allowed to view part of the position drills at the start of practice.  Here are a few observations:

-The recievers still need some work.  Outside of Amari Cooper, the corps had trouble hanging on to catches, espescially on short sideline passes.  They did better on deep passes, but there was still an issue with consistency.  Part of this may also be the quarterbacks.  Despite the talent collected at the position, they have yet to develop any chemistry with the recievers.  That being said, incoming freshman Cam Sims made some pretty impressive grabs, though he was not consistent.  Nevertheless, his size will be a real asset to whoever wins the starting QB job.

-With the running backs, there seems to be no change.  T.J. Yeldon is still running at the head of the pack, followed by Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake, Altee Tenpenny and Tyren Jones.  Tenpenny seemed to struggle a bit during ball-security drills. Given his recent troubles, it hasn't been a good week for the sophomore from Little Rock.  Henry continues to look impressive, but Tide fans should note that Yeldon has not surendered his starting job and appears to have no intentions of doing so.  This battle will be fun to watch throughout the rest of spring.

-DeAndrew White was still wearing a non-contact jersey.  His participation this spring remains limited.
