Auburn’s Bo Nix Transfers to Oregon

After surprising many with his decision to enter the transfer portal following his junior season, former Auburn quarterback Bo Nix has surprised many yet again with his transfer destination.

The former Tiger signal caller has committed to play his final collegiate season as a member of the Oregon Ducks, taking his talents "coast to coast" as the three-year starter put it in a twitter post.

Someone may need to fill Bo in on what exactly "coast to coast" means, but regardless, the Ducks pick up a very experienced former SEC quarterback.

For Nix, the connection is clear as Oregon recently hired former Auburn offensive coordinator, Kenny Dillingham, who helped Nix put up his best numbers as a freshman in 2019. Dillingham was the first hire for new coach Dan Lanning, and just days after the announcement, Nix made his decision.

Under Dillingham, Nix put together a very promising freshman campaign at Auburn, finishing with a 9-4 record and throwing for over 2,500 yards and 16 touchdowns. Since his freshman season, the Pinson native has not seen much improvement; however, failing to recreate the success found in 2019.

In the last two seasons, across 21 games played, Nix threw for only 4,709 yards, adding just 23 touchdowns to 10 interceptions, leading Auburn to a 6-5 and 6-6 season.

Oregon, despite a very strong start to the year, knocking off Ohio State in week two, was unable to capitalize off their massive win and finished 10-3, missing out on a chance at the College Football Playoff.

While Nix has certainly seen his share of struggle at Auburn, he has been responsible for some incredible wins in his time as a starter and gets a chance to start fresh at Oregon. As of now, the former Pinson Valley quarterback is probably unlikely to hear his name called in the 2022 NFL Draft, but a strong final season could easily change that.
