Makarri Doggette became the Crimson Tide's 75th gymnast to earn All-American Honors. Doggette was named an All-American for her excellence in the uneven bars. The freshman finished the year with a 9.905 national qualifying score on the uneven bars and led the Tide in the event in seven contests.

It’s a big February Friday for Alabama athletics as five of its teams will be in action. The top ranked Alabama softball team heads down to Tallahassee Florida to play two games with each North Carolina and Florida State. The women’s gymnastics team hosts its “Power of Pink” meet in Tuscaloosa against Missouri. The men’s tennis team returns to from Minnesota to Tuscaloosa to take on Tulsa. The Alabama swimming and diving team travels to Auburn to participate in the Auburn Invitational and the Tide indoor track and field team heads out to Albuquerque to participate in the New Mexico Classic.

The ninth ranked Alabama Crimson Tide Gymnastics team lost its home opener 198.25 to 197.4 to number one ranked Oklahoma. Coleman Colieseum hosted its “Capes and Crowns” night for the fans but the Tide came up short against the defending national champions. Oklahoma outscored the Tide gymnasts in each of the four categories in Tuscaloosa to improve its record to 5-0 on the season.
