A little less than a week ago the murky waters of the college football playoff began to clear up.

First an announcement was made in January that the Rose and Orange Bowls would host the first semi finals. Then the announcement was made on how the teams will be picked to play in those games.

Bill Hancock, Executive Director of the BCS announced 14-20 individuals will make up the committee, with at least one representative from the 10 FBS football conferences.

Out with the old and in with the new.

Wednesday ESPN's Brad Edwards joined The Game and said he is glad college football is riding themselves of the numerous polls, but is unsure how the committee will handle the pressure of having to pick the top four teams.

While the system's first year will feature four teams, Edwards says while the end goal is to bring the playoff to eight. However, there likely wont be a rush to get there.

The conference commissioners will next meet on April 23-25th.  It is expected the first championship site under the new system will be announced on that date.

The Game airs weekdays from 5-8pm on Tuscaloosa's Sports Authority 99.1 WDGM, 991wdgm.com, and the Radio Pup application
