Nick Saban added to his top-ranked 2015 recruiting class on Friday when five-star running back Damien Harris picked Alabama over his home-state school, Kentucky.

Harris, rated as the nation's #2 running back by 247Sports, made the announcement at his high school, Madison Southern, with his mother by his side.

"It's a great opportunity," Harris said about Alabama. "They just feed (running) backs into the league and that's the ultimate goal after college."

Over the course of the past year, Harris has developed a relationship with Alabama quarterback commit and early enrollee Blake Barnett. The two practiced and played together at The Opening and the Under-Armour All-American Game, and Harris said that bond helped him during the decision-making process.

"(Barnett) was a huge factor," Harris said. "He's become the closest recruit, as far as nationally, that I had the opportunity to meet. He's a great player, and it seems like every time we play together, we seem to win."

This is the second running back in the 2015 class for the Crimson Tide. Desherrius Flowers of Mobile enrolled earlier this week and is already on campus. Both guys will look to compete for playing time that has opened up

This is what Harris shared on Twitter after his announcement.
