In 2013 Mike Groh, the University of Alabama's wide receivers coach was named the recruiter of the year by 24/7 Sports and Rivals.com

The former Virginia quarterback turned offensive coach turned heads by securing the top player in Arkansas(Altee Tenpenny)Pennsylvania(Robert Foster) and even stealing the top player from the state of Texas, flipping long-time Longhorn recruit A'Shawn Robinson.  However, where he's going next, his recruiting skills will mean little.

BamaOnline.com was one of the first to report on Thursday that Groh will depart Tuscaloosa to take over the same position with the National Football League's Chicago Bears. While Alabama will lose one of its top recruiters, Travis Reier pointed out that the Crimson Tide will also lose one good position coach.

While the move leaves Alabama shorthanded the Tide have reportedly filled the vacancy quickly. Florida State assistant and recruiting coordinator Billy Napier will take over the reigns Groh leaves behind.  Although he comes from the Seminoles staff, Napier is very familiar with the Alabama system.

While numerous outlets have reported the news, an official announcement from Alabama head coach Nick Saban has yet to be released.
