Jay Deas Previews Deontay Wilder’s Upcoming Fight in Birmingham [Audio]

After having a highly anticipated fight against Alexander Povetkin called off in May, Tuscaloosa native and WBC champion boxer Deontay Wilder will take the stage for his next fight July 16 against Chris Arreola at Birmingham’s Legacy Arena.

Wilder’s trainer and owner of Skyy Boxing Promotion Jay Deas stepped Inside the Locker Room to preview the upcoming fight.

He provided analysis of Wilder’s opponent, how the fight became possible and the key skills that makes Wilder successful.

With Deontay Wilder preparing for his fight against Arreola, Deas explained why Birmingham’s Legacy Arena was chosen as the site of the WBC champion’s next fight.

“It was such a quick thing that we needed an arena and a setup that was already in motion that we didn’t have to re-invent the wheel. We needed decisions made in 24-48 hours.” Deas said.
