Alabama was without starting center Mohamed Wague due to a foot injury. In the end, it did not matter with the Crimson Tide defeating the Gamecocks 74-47.

Turnovers were the name of the game early. The Crimson Tide and the Gamecocks turned the ball over a combined 14 times in the first half.

Mark Sears led the team in points with 15 in the first half. He did it again in the second half, leading all scorers with 31 points on the night. Tonight's performance only helps his case to be SEC Player of the Year.

Sears finished the night with 31 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Aaron Estrada was the Tide's second leader with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The three-point shot was a success for Alabama tonight, with the Crimson Tide shooting 44 percent from behind the arc. Sears led the way with six made baskets from range.

The Crimson Tide earned their blue-collar points tonight from coach Nate Oats. Alabama finished the game with 36 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 10 steals.

Alabama is still not at full strength. There are still areas of improvement for the Crimson Tide. But coach Oats will take the wins where he can get them, especially considering the tough schedule Alabama plays this season.

The Crimson Tide advanced to 10-5 on the season and 2-0 in SEC play. They'll hit the road to Starkville to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday, January 13.
