The Ole Miss Rebels football program has officially hired former Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding.

The Rebels made the decision official just one day after it was announced that Golding was leaving the Crimson Tide to become the next defensive coordinator at Ole Miss.

"We are excited to add a championship caliber coach like Pete Golding to our staff," said Kiffin in Ole Miss' press release. "At multiple stops in his career, Coach Golding has directed some of college football's top defenses. He is also an outstanding recruiter and understands the level of talent necessary to compete at the highest level."

Golding has been a defensive coordinator for the majority of his coaching career and leaves the Capstone after five seasons with the program.

"I think this continues to show our commitment to taking Ole Miss Football to the next level," said Kiffin.

Alabama has yet to announce his replacement.
