Editor Anthony Dasher of UGASports.com published the following info regarding the reported parting of ways of Scott Cochran and Kirby Smart in Athens:

"Specials Teams Coordinator Scott Cochran is currently not part of the University of Georgia football program, sources have told UGASports.

Details are not available, but sources state that Cochran's office was empty Wednesday morning.

Cochran joined Kirby Smart’s staff in 2020 as the Bulldogs’ special teams coordinator following a 13-year stint as the head strength and conditioning coach at Alabama, where he helped the Crimson Tide win six national championships [actually five].

"At Georgia, Cochran served as an on-field assistant before Smart announced in August of 2021 that he was stepping away from the program to 'prioritize his mental health and well-being.'

Cochran would maintain his title as Special Teams Coordinator, but after returning to Georgia, remained in an off-the-field capacity."

Georgia has not released anything official on this but Dasher is a respected journalist who has covered the Bulldogs for years.

Bama fans have long clamored for Cochran's return to Tuscaloosa. It remains to be seen if that happens, but it certainly can't be ruled out due to the above information alongside the fact that Kalen DeBoer DOES have staff openings.

Only time will tell. We will keep you posted on air and online.
