No. 25 Alabama Walks-Off No. 1 Hogs to Force Series Tiebreaker

The No. 25 Alabama Crimson Tide took down the No. 1 Arkansas Razorbacks 4-3 in extra innings to force a game-three series tiebreaker.

Alabama closer Alton Davis II earned the win for the Crimson Tide, throwing 2.0 innings and striking out three while only allowing one run. Arkansas reliever Jake Faherty got credited for the loss tonight after allowing Alabama's walk-off run in the tenth.

Greg Farone got the ball to start the game for the Crimson Tide Saturday evening, pitching five innings and striking out three while only allowing four hits and one run.

Mason Molina took the mound to start for the Hogs, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six batters.

Mac Guscette was injured in the third inning when a ball hit him in the neck in the third inning. However, he returned in the tenth after being cleared for a head injury.

The first four runs of the evening were all solo shots. Alabama's Will Hodo sent one to the Right Field Ragers to start the scoring in the second, followed by a Gage Miller home run off the left-field pole in the third to extend the Crimson Tide lead to two.

The Razorbacks responded in the fifth with a Peyton Stovall homer to right field, cutting Alabama's lead in half. In the sixth, the Crimson Tide would go to Tyler Fay to relieve starter Greg Farone. On Fay's first at-bat, Arkansas' Jared Sprague-Lott sent a homer into the Alabama bullpen to tie it up in Tuscaloosa.

After the initial at-bat, Fay would mow down, not allowing another Arkansas batter to reach first base.

Still tied up at two-a-piece entering the bottom of the eight, the Crimson Tide received some Dixieland Delight magic from TJ McCants, who doubled down the right-field line to break the stalemate and take a 3-2 lead.

Alton Davis II would enter to Eminem's 'Till I Collapse to attempt to close out the game for Alabama. Davis II would strike out Ben McLaughlin for the first out and force a grounder to Justin Lebron, who made a spectacular grab and throw to Will Hodo, for the second out of the inning.

However, Arkansas' Peyton Holt would square up a pitch and send it to left-center to tie the game back up at three each. Kendall Diggs would reach on an error, but Davis II would freeze Arkansas catcher Hudson White to strike him out looking to end the ninth.

Alabama threatened to walk off the Hogs in the ninth, but Arkansas' Gage Wood would strand two Tide baserunners to keep the Razorbacks alive.

In the tenth, Davis II forced the Hogs down in a 1-2-3 fashion, giving the Alabama bats another opportunity to win the game.

On the first at-bat of the inning, Will Hodo doubled into left field. Rob Vaughn then opted to pinch-run Mason Swinney for Will Hodo, with TJ McCants digging into the box.

McCants hit a dribbler to Arkansas pitcher Jake Faherty, who bobbled it and threw it over first baseman Ben McLaughlin's head, allowing Mason Swinney to score to win the game for the Crimson Tide.

The No. 25 Alabama Crimson Tide will look to clinch a series win over No. 1 Arkansas tomorrow at 1 p.m. central time.
