A-Day Game

The University of Alabama announced Monday that the 2016 Golden Flake A-Day Spring Football Game will be held on Saturday, April 16, at 1 p.m. (CT).

Talks have been centered on the QB position at Alabama this spring. After losing two-time national champion AJ McCaron, Blake Sims was the featured topic around town. His performance during the A-Day game, leaves a lot of questions unanswered.

The smallest A-Day crowd since Nick Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa was still large enough to top the rest of college football in 2014.

Everything that can be expected at an Alabama spring took place on Saturday.

Before a crowd of 73,506, the White Team defeated the Crimson Team, 17-13, in the 2014 Alabama Football Golden Flake A-Day Spring Game at Bryant-Denny Stadium in perfect weather conditions Saturday afternoon.

This year's rendition of the A-Day game will feature, yet again, the Crimson vs. the White teams, with the 1st team offense playing for the Crimson and the 1st team defense suiting up for the White team.

A primary focus for Saban this off-season will be the restructuring of an Alabama secondary that struggled throughout the 2013 season. Injuries plagued last year's group, which opened the door for a number of younger players to step up. Those players now have valuable SEC experience and that will come in handy under a new secondary coach...

Since Nick Saban had arrived in Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide has sent many players to the NFL, sometimes as many as ten being drafted in a single season. The flip side of that is the holes left when these players depart.

When the Alabama football team takes to the practice field for spring practice on Saturday, there might be as much outside interest on this camp as any since Nick Saban's arrival in Tuscaloosa.
