Alabama's baseball team had high expectations coming into the 2015 season. The Crimson Tide was projected to finish 2nd in the SEC West in the SEC coaches preseason poll and found itself in the top 25 of some preseason polls.

But with only a few weeks left in the regular season, Alabama is in danger of missing the SEC tournament, which would automatically end its chances of making it to the NCAA tournament.

Alabama (23-21, 8-13 SEC) rounds out the season with series against Arkansas, Auburn, and Vanderbilt. According to D.C. Reeves of the Tuscaloosa News, the Crimson Tide needs an impressive finish just to secure a spot in the SEC tournament.

The SEC tournament is played annually at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, which is where the Crimson Tide currently plays its home games. Missing the conference tournament would be a huge blow to the team's morale. Luckily, they appear to be on track to finish ahead of Mississippi State in the West standings.

Alabama is also vying for a bid in an NCAA regional. According Aaron Fitt, a national writer for D1baseball.com, the Tide will need even more wins if they want any consideration for a spot in the NCAA tournament.

D1baseball.com's midseason report listed Alabama as one of college baseball's most disappointing teams in terms of failure to meet their full potential. Many people believe that Alabama is still one of the most talented teams in the SEC, but many things have contributed to their disappointing season. There is still a lot of baseball to be played, and Alabama has proven it can hang with any team in the country. But do you think they will finish strong?
